Strategies of China regional universities’ key features and its evaluation

Abstract

Strategies of China’s regional universities, which are not global rating leaders, don’t participate in the world higher education elite are examined in the paper. Common strategic orientations and the elements of the strategies with dynamics of Chinese universities positions in global and national rankings defined as the background. The author’s approach is to compare key elements of China’s universities’ successful strategies. Official documents, strategies, development plans and programs of different groups of universities examined. The research suggested that Chinese universities are significantly far behind U.S., Great Britain and so on universities concerning education, research, international students rate and other key parameters of rating evaluation.
